Code Enforcement

The Town of Stallings Code Enforcement is responsible for the prevention, detection, investigation, and enforcement of violations of local ordinances. The Code Enforcement Team is dedicated to improving the appearance of the community and maintaining standards of living through the regulation of public health, safety, and welfare, building standards, land-use, zoning, and municipal affairs. Working with residents, the Team strives to ensure the Town of Stallings remains a safe and attractive place to live, work, shop, and play.

Below are common examples of issues Code Enforcement is responsible for investigating:

Property Issues

  • Excessive vegetation and/or weeds
  • Junk motor vehicles
  • Commercial vehicles parked/stored in a residential area
  • Illegal dumping 
  • Accumulation of garbage, rubbish, trash
  • Dilapidated buildings and/or structures (Minimum Housing Code)
  • Dilapidated or unpermitted accessory buildings


  • Construction work without permits
  • Prohibited Signs
  • Land Use violations
  • Zoning violations
  • Objects in the right-of-way

How to Report a Code Violation

The Town provides a variety of ways in which you can file a code violation. Please be prepared for specific information such as:

  • Address of the Property
  • Contact Information Including the Complainants' Name, Address, Phone Number
  • Detailed Description of the Situation
  • Length of Time You Have Observed the Situation

How to File the Violation

Ways to file a code violation include:

 An officer will contact you during normal business hours. If a violation is occurring at night or on the weekends and requires immediate assistance, please contact the Stallings Police Department.
