Historical Facts

The original center fo the Town was just before the railroad tracks going towards Independence Blvd. The center of Town shifted to where it is today after Monroe Road became the main transportation artery.    A 1961 BBQ fundraiser for the Volunteer Fire Department advertised adult plates for $1.25 and children's plates for $0.75

In the early years of the Volunteer Fire Department, 24 members paid dues and firemen were given territories to collect dues.    The Town of Stallings is situated in two counties- Union and Mecklenburg

In the 1950's the Stallings Volunteer Fire Department would wet down the ball fields as a show of community support.    Stallings had two cotton gins in town at one point.

The Town Council held meetings in a church and in a retail center before the original Town Hall was built.
