The Town is required by North Carolina General Statutes to undergo an annual independent audit. The audit is conducted by an independent Certified Public Accounting firm, which is selected by competitive bid.
The Town prepare the Annual Financial Information Report ("AFIR"), formerly the CAFR, which includes the auditor’s report, Town’s financial trends, revenue and debt capacity, demographic and economic information, and other operating statistics.
